 1. Warranty Overview 

Abecca by Design (“the Company”) warrants to the original purchaser that its products (“Products”) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the warranty periods listed below. This warranty applies to commercial and business use only. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply. Any condition, warranty, or term not expressly stated in this document is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure to comply with the conditions of this warranty will void all warranty entitlements. The warranty is not transferable or assignable unless agreed to in writing by the Company

2. Warranty Periods by Product Range 


• Armadillo® Range – 7-year structural warranty 

• Eagle™ Range – 4-year structural warranty 

• Hawk™ Range – 2-year structural warranty 

• Kauri & Totara Ranges – 2-year structural warranty         

Structural Warranty

The covers the internal structure and components directly related to the product’s structural integrity, including:

 

• Cracking or breaking of internal structure 

• Premature compression 

• Significant deformation not attributable to normal wear

         

3. Warranty Conditions

To maintain warranty coverage, the Customer must:


• Follow all Abecca by Design care and maintenance instructions 

 Obtain written approval before using chemical-based cleaning products 

• Maintain a weekly cleaning log 

• Remove the product from use immediately if damage is observed 

• Submit claims within 30 days of discovering a defect 

• Provide proof of purchase, serial number, cleaning log, cleaning products used, photos, and a description of the
issue

          

The Company may require the product to be returned for inspection. If the claim is accepted, freight will be reimbursed.
The Customer must allow the Company up to 10 working days from notification to inspect the product or request further
evidence. 

Repairs or modifications attempted by the Customer or their agents without written approval void the warranty.


4. Remedies

If a defect is confirmed, the Company may, at its discretion:


• Repair the product 

• Replace the product 

• Provide a pro-rata settlement 

• Replace only the affected component

          

Pro-rata settlements may be applied where the Company determines that a proportionate settlement based on the
remaining useful life of the product is the fairest outcome. For multi-component products, settlement may apply only to
the affected component. Any repair, replacement, or settlement does not renew, extend, or alter the original warranty
period, which runs solely from the date of original purchase.


 5. Exclusions

 

This warranty does not cover: 

5.1 General Exclusions

• Fair wear and tear
• Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, or improper care
• Damage from unapproved cleaning products or chemicals
• Exposure to excessive heat, moisture, or environmental conditions
• Scratches, scuffs, stains, wipe marks, burns, or cosmetic deterioration
• UV fading or discolouration
• Variations in colour, pattern, or shade compared to samples or printed illustrations
• Modifications or alterations (including resizing, gluing, or unauthorised repairs)
• Mould, mildew, fungi, bacteria, or similar growth
• Force majeure events, including earthquakes, floods, storms, war, civil unrest, or events beyond the Company’s control
• Products sold as seconds, clearance, or end-of-line
• Trivial or cosmetic imperfections not affecting performance
• Normal maintenance costs or adjustments


5.2 Upholstery & Coverings
Not covered: stretching, loosening, wrinkling, fabric wear, pilling, deterioration, or damage from improper cleaning


5.3 High-Risk Environments

In correctional, psychiatric, or other high-risk settings, warranty coverage applies only when products are used and
maintained strictly according to guidelines. Extraordinary use may void the warranty.


5.4 Bean Bags / Polystyrene-Filled Products
Not covered: loss of filling, deformation due to use, or damage from over-compression or mishandling.


6. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for


• Consequential, indirect, or special loss (including loss of profits)
• Damage arising from third-party workmanship
• Improper care
• Normal maintenance requirements


The Company’s liability is limited solely to repair, replacement, or settlement of the defective product as outlined in this
warranty.


7. Document Control

Warranty terms may be updated periodically. The version in effect at the time of claim assessment applies and supersedes all prior versions.
